Skradin is located in central Dalmatia, Croatia and is probably one of the smallest cities in the world with such a rich history.
The city was founded between 4- 6000 years ago by the Illyrians but was given its current name Skradin (Lat. Scardona) by the Romans probably during the 2nd century AD. Since then, the battles for Skradin have been many and several dynasties have come and gone during the last 2000 years. This is probably due to Skradins strategic location as an important port and trading location. (Source: https://kamenodoba.hr/ http://www.grad-skradin.hr/)
The harbour and the trading place are still there today, although in a slightly updated guise. During the season you will find over 40 bars, restaurants, cafes, ice cream stands and nice shops to explore. In addition, there is a very popular playground for kids, a child-friendly beach with facilities for all ages, a basketball court, football field and an outdoor gym.
Not to mention that Skradin with its closeness to the Skradinski buk waterfalls is one of Dalmatia's most visited destinations.
