The history of olive cultivation spans thousands of years. There is evidence that it was cultivated by the ancient Egyptians and in ancient Mesopotamia. Initially, the extracted oil was used for medicinal purposes and lighting.
After being spread to the Mediterranean region by the Phoenicians, olive oil quickly became a valuable commodity for ancient Greeks and Romans, who valued its nutritional benefits and used it in cooking, skincare, and ceremonies.
Here in the Skradin region, we have been cultivating olives for more than 2000 years.

OUR OLIVE VARIETIES
Although Oblica is grown in other parts of the world, it is one of Croatia's indigenous olive varieties. Thanks to its resistance to significant temperature fluctuations and drought, it is perfectly suited for organic production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
For more than 2000 years, we have been cultivating Oblica in the Skradin region, and today, it plays a significant role in Croatian culture and our traditions.
While Oblica is primarily used for premium oil production, it is also excellent for preservation.
When you buy our olive oil, you not only receive a high-quality product but you also become a part of our history and our future. Every bottle comes with a unique story.
Krvavica, locally known as the "Little Skradin Beauty," is a unique and captivating olive variety that also originates from our region (Central Dalmatia). Its name, which means "bloody" in Croatian, comes from the red spots that appear on the surface of the olives during the ripening process. This visually striking characteristic gives Krvavica its unmistakable appearance.
This beloved olive variety is renowned for its exquisite taste and aroma. It yields a mild and fruity oil with a peppery aftertaste. The olives are carefully hand-harvested to ensure that the fruits remain undamaged for oil production.
Together with Oblica, Krvavica has become one of the cornerstones of regional olive oil production, and its sought-after oil is often used to enhance the flavours of various dishes.
The Leccino olive variety originates from Tuscany, Italy, and is one of their oldest cultivars. It adapts well to cooler climates and can be highly productive under the right conditions.
However, it requires another cultivar to bear fruit. Leccino olives offer a sweet and light flavor. When harvested before they are ripe, you can extract high-quality, fruity, and fragrant olive oil.
In our olive grove, we use it as a pollinator as it has proven to be more beneficial to also have a cross-pollinator in addition to the autochthonous sorts.
